A friend said that Valentines Day should be Single Awareness day! I have been with someone most of my life but can remember a single Valentines or two… it sucks! Everyone flaunts Love in your face all over the place and all you are reminded of is that you are NOT with anyone.
This goes out to my single friends, my heart goes out to you!

Sometimes I just can’t help singing along… all day long! Does it make you go crazy too?
There is so much to learn from most of the Dr. Seuss books, but The Lorax… Oh the Lorax!
The Lorax has affected us in more than one way, but the most stunning and beautiful thing is how my children, at only 3 years old, are focused on protecting the environment. My son especially, mentions the Lorax almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day…
He says things like:
When he plays with water, “Do I have to turn off the water now? We have to save water for the Humming-fish.”
When his dad chopped down a non-indigenous tree in the yard he went on for weeks, “Is the Lorax sad when we chop down trees? Some trees are not like Truffula trees, they damage the environment, its OK to chop down bad trees.”
When there was soot in the air from a large fire, “The air is polluted, the Swomee-Swans are going to fly away.”
How stunning is that!
For a three year old to have an understanding of the environment like that, all you need is Dr. Seuss!
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” -Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
South Africans can buy it from Takealot, American friends, have a look at Amazon.

Sometimes I feel like finding reasons to be mad at God. As if God made bad things happen to me or punished me for my wrong doing. The well intended words of others who think God must be punishing us for something we did when something bad happens sticks in your head like a broken record when you forget…
There’s so many things we as parents believe we do wrong… Having a pigeon pair twins helps me sometimes to realise everything is not always my fault.
My kids get the same food, the same parenting style is being used for both of them, they have the same upbringing and yet they are so different in so many ways. Like the quote says… my son just asks for more vegetables every time he eats, but my daughter, who was raised with the same vegetables he was, just decided one day that she doesn’t like vegetables.\
At first I almost wanted to think by myself what I did wrong but luckily I realised soon enough that my veggie loving son had exactly the same food as a baby until now so it’s probably not my fault!
