Uiteindelik soos belowe, die begin van my nuwe Werkboekies reeks! Hierdie is die eerste een, so laat weet gerus as daar ‘n foutjie opduik, hierdie is nog die toets fase. In this digital era, it is easy and affordable to purchase the latest gadgets and gain access to technology. One often finds children riveted to tablets, smartphones or a computer screen, engrossed in playing games, or their attention is glued to the television set. Studies have shown that the usage of gadgets can cause children to have a limited attention span. Such habits lead children towards a sedentary lifestyle from a young age. This can cause multiple health issues, both physical and mental. It also affects children’s reasoning power, the capability of thinking logically and hampers their creative mind. Initiating children into a sports activity or helping them inculcate a hobby or enrolling them in a creative / performing arts class can serve as a great motivation for kids to break the monotony of their usual routine and spend some time doing something fun and creative.
Here are my top five ways to help your child to improve their focus.Read the rest of this entry
Yes I am still going strong whoop whoop!!! and yes I am still mostly sugar free… apart from one or two cheat days I have been sugar free for 27 days now! I almost can’t believe it myself, I even said no to cake that my 12 year old niece baked and felt terrible for it but I am happy to say I stayed strong and I am no longer binging on sugar.Read the rest of this entry
This one is A3 size but you can set your printer for A4 if you wish to print smaller size. I highly recommend that you take the high res file (10MB) to a printer and print out 2 copies of the A3 and laminate both. The one is for the wall as a poster and the other can be cut in the middle of the green lines to make flashcards.
The smaller file (250kb) can be printed A4 without quality loss but might be too small for a poster and way too small for flashcards. The low res A3 might be a little less on quality but still ok if it doesn’t bother you. Read the rest of this entry

Kidloland has the most amazing app with multiple different educational games that is really worth it to join at least for a few months. I wrote about it HERE!
So they also brought out a coding app which is really great. My 5 year olds find it fun but also challenging. There’s a few free games within the app to try out as well as a free game of the day so download the game to give it a try!

It’s human nature to remember the bad more vividly than the good – it’s how we evolved to make sure we stayed safe – by remembering those negative experiences vividly so that we could avoid them in the future.
However, with the advent of massive connectivity, negativity now surrounds us from every direction….and it’s pervasive. Turn on the television, tune into social media, or pick up a paper and you’ll typically be bombarded with negativity.Read the rest of this entry
I wrote this post about Decluttering your brain way back when and also this one about Dealing with Toy Overload, but honestly I am still figuring out how to declutter my life! Being the little crafter that I am, I keep almost everything because I constantly think I should be able to do something with it.
Well I have a whole new schedule planned so I am getting to the end of this madness…Read the rest of this entry
I have to admit, that first morning after I wrote this post I woke up thinking’ “What have I done? Why did I do that?” I had a feeling of impending doom… like failure was sure to follow, but now, 6 days later I am still hanging on so I guess I’m really doing this!
So there was a few things that really dragged me down and I knew those things would have to be addressed first.
What did I change…Read the rest of this entry

Oh yes we are still doing the sticker chart thing and we even pay money these days at the end of it… well it all gets saved so I guess we are at a good spot there. I am not proud of the fact that we use sticker charts to get the kids to do things but its just so much less effort… I know I know its terrible. So if you want to be terrible with me, heres a chart for the Spy Sqad!Read the rest of this entry
Even just thinking of words to start this post is hard. The truth is what I am about to start is exposing me in so many ways…
I may fail at this but I refuse to not do it because I am afraid of failure. I have failed so many times in my life I can’t even count, but it doesn’t mean it will stop me from trying again… I am one tough cookie, I can give myself that one!
So the truth is even though it always looks like things are going so well and I am always looking good on photos (because I am taking photos for the blog from the neck up only), is that I am actually really gettingRead the rest of this entry
This one is a great project for the homeschoolers and also great fun for all kids and young-at-heart adults who love drawing cartoons or anything for that matter! Sketching is one of the things I love to do in my free time and now with one of the wonderful Apps Apple brought us, called “Paper by 53”, it has become so much easier and quicker to create a work of art on the fly. All your palettes, pencils and erasers are right there in one place so it doesn’t take so much time to set up and pack away a whole art set.Read the rest of this entry
