A while back I started doing articles for Mother And Child Magazine. I created this Fox Mask for their woodland themed party. It was so much fun to do and really not too hard.
You can do it with coloured cardboard or plain white and let your child colour it in, but for best results, do it on felt if you want it to last longer.
Cardboard
To get the different colours, the easiest would be to print the pattern on three different cardboards (the nose you can just cut out of black cardboard) and then cut them out and use the different colours… this way you can make three unique masks.
Alternatively you can print out one on plain paper, paste the cutouts on coloured cardboard and cut it out again.
Felt
To make a felt mask, print and cut the pattern, pin it to the felt and cut out. I glued the pieces with fabric glue before giving them a quick small stitch all around every piece and finally made a little hole on each side by pinching the fabric and cutting it with a scissor. Just make sure the holes are close to the eyes or they won’t be able to see through the eye holes.
