So I’ve been seeing posts of a friend of mine of his 6 year old son kicking but at chess tournaments and I was totally surprised… 6 year olds can play chess? I started showing my 6 year old twins a move or two and quickly realised that they could do much more than we think. George Harrolds of Kaoori Chess sets is going to tell us more about the benefits of chess for kids’ development.

Uiteindelik soos belowe, die begin van my nuwe Werkboekies reeks! Hierdie is die eerste een, so laat weet gerus as daar ‘n foutjie opduik, hierdie is nog die toets fase. This one is A3 size but you can set your printer for A4 if you wish to print smaller size. I highly recommend that you take the high res file (10MB) to a printer and print out 2 copies of the A3 and laminate both. The one is for the wall as a poster and the other can be cut in the middle of the green lines to make flashcards.
The smaller file (250kb) can be printed A4 without quality loss but might be too small for a poster and way too small for flashcards. The low res A3 might be a little less on quality but still ok if it doesn’t bother you. Read the rest of this entry

Kidloland has the most amazing app with multiple different educational games that is really worth it to join at least for a few months. I wrote about it HERE!
So they also brought out a coding app which is really great. My 5 year olds find it fun but also challenging. There’s a few free games within the app to try out as well as a free game of the day so download the game to give it a try!

This one is a great project for the homeschoolers and also great fun for all kids and young-at-heart adults who love drawing cartoons or anything for that matter! Sketching is one of the things I love to do in my free time and now with one of the wonderful Apps Apple brought us, called “Paper by 53”, it has become so much easier and quicker to create a work of art on the fly. All your palettes, pencils and erasers are right there in one place so it doesn’t take so much time to set up and pack away a whole art set.Read the rest of this entry
